Beef and Bell Pepper Stir-Fry

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 pounds beef (sirloin or ribeye), sliced into thin strips
  • 2 medium bell peppers (any color), sliced
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method

  1. 1Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat.
  2. 2Add the sliced onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and translucent (3-4 minutes).
  3. 3Add the minced garlic and cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant (1 minute).
  4. 4Add the sliced beef and cook, stirring frequently, until browned and cooked to desired doneness (4-5 minutes).
  5. 5Add the sliced bell peppers and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender and slightly charred (4-5 minutes).
  6. 6Stir in the soy sauce, grated ginger, honey, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute.
  7. 7Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. 8Transfer the beef and bell peppers to a serving platter and garnish with green onions and a sprinkle of cilantro.
