A fluffy omelette filled with the warmth of cumin and the pungency of garlic is a simple yet satisfying breakfast option. The freshness of cilantro adds a bright note to this comforting dish.
Ingredients
1 large eggs
¼ teaspoon ground cumin
⅛ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon black pepper
½ tablespoon butter, softened
½ small onion, finely chopped
1 cloves garlic, minced
½ tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
Method
1Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk them together with the cumin, salt, and pepper until the eggs are fully incorporated and the spices are evenly distributed.
2Heat the butter in a small non-stick skillet over medium heat, until it melts and foams.
3Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, for 2-3 minutes, until it is translucent and starting to caramelize.
4Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
5Pour the egg mixture over the onion and garlic in the skillet and cook, stirring gently, for 2-3 minutes, until the eggs start to set.
6Use a spatula to gently lift and fold the edges of the omelette towards the center, allowing the uncooked egg to flow to the edges and cook.
7Continue cooking and folding the omelette for another 1-2 minutes, until the eggs are almost set and just slightly moist.
8Slide the omelette out of the skillet onto a plate and garnish with chopped cilantro.
