Stir-Fried Chicken and Green Beans

30 min

I'm a quick and easy stir-fry made with juicy chicken, crunchy green beans, and a savory blend of garlic, ginger, and soy sauce. The red pepper flakes add a touch of heat to this fast and flavorful dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method

  1. 1Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat until it starts to shimmer.
  2. 2Add the chicken to the wok and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. 3Remove the chicken from the wok and set aside, leaving the oil and juices behind.
  4. 4Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the wok, then stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  5. 5Add the green beans to the wok and cook, stirring frequently, until they start to soften, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. 6Add the cooked chicken back to the wok, then stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and red pepper flakes, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the ingredients are well combined.
  7. 7Season the stir-fry with salt and pepper to taste, then serve immediately.
  8. 8Transfer the stir-fry to a serving platter and garnish with sesame seeds or sliced scallions, if desired.
